Diving can be just as dangerous as driving or jogging. We are underwater where we need specific equipment to be able to breathe, which is why it is important to do it under the supervision of professionals following safety regulations. Various studies conducted in the US, Canada, or Japan show that the statistical probability of death while diving is 2-3 per 100,000 dives.
Our policy at Nitro Dive is to teach you the entire diving procedure so that you have all the necessary knowledge before entering the water. Our courses are small (less than 4 people), the experience is more personalized and the error rate is minimal.
The practice of diving, today, is limited to people over 8 years of age and has no maximum age limit, as long as it does not have physical and/or mental complications. Depending on the country, it is necessary to undergo a medical check-up to certify that you are fit and that diving is safe. In other countries, such as Thailand, you only have to fill out a form. We review it in detail, and if there are 1 or more existing medical conditions, it will be necessary to obtain a medical certificate.
SSI (Scuba Schools International) and PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) are organizations featured to diving certificates.
SSI emphasizes flexibility and adaptation of teaching to each student, offering free digital materials and fostering local diving communities. On the other hand, PADI is characterized for having a standard approach, with educative material worldwide, but it has an additional price. Both organizations are recognized around the world, but depends on you what teaching style you prefer.
